My friend Nick held a holiday gathering at his home on Friday. He's the cook and I'm the baker. I made what was supposed to be coffee cake with dalgona coffee cream. For some reason, I could not get the coffee cream to become soft peaks. I'm not sure if I used coffee grains that were too large, or the little electric whisk I brought to Nick's home simply wasn't powerful enough. In the end, I took the coffee and sugar mixture and drizzled it over the cake. It was delicious but this is my first baking 'failure'.
