Keeps the doctor away. I made pine syrup from the pine tips I picked on Lummi Island last weekend. I made a cocktail out of the syrup but I decided to bake with it too. I found an easy and interesting baked apples recipe using cinnamon sugar and pine syrup.
Notes:
1. I used Honeycrisp apples as they’re firmer and won’t become mushy after baking. They’re a bit more expensive than Gala and Pink Lady apples but the result is worth it.
2. I cored the apples completely.
3. To make cinnamon sugar, I used 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 1 Tbsp of ground cinnamon.
