In the spirit of the long Memorial Day weekend, I decided to have some light and refreshing treats around the house. There’s no baking with these two items but they require some work, and make great desserts too, so I’m sharing.

The first treat is watermelon sorbet for the occasional sunny day here in Seattle - with honey, lime juice, and boiled mint leaves. The second treat is watermelon juice with a twist - with fresh lime juice, cayenne pepper, and a little salt.

Recipes:

Watermelon juice: https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/watermelon-granita-2 Note: I did not freeze the mixture this time, but I had in the past and it’s delicious.
