Missing Florence

Florence is one of my favorite cities. The food and museums are amazing. So when I came across this recipe, I was compelled to bake it. This cake is called Schiacciata alla Fiorentina.

My version has some orange juice in it, with a dusting of cocoa powder at the bottom of the cake. Instead of the Florentine Lily, I chose a cocoa powdered heart - on 9/11, we need some heart and some love.
