The plan was to make a light dessert of berries in wine reduction because it was so hot today (August 17, 2020). When I was done I felt it needed something to accompany it and I had no vanilla ice cream in the house! So I decided a vanilla pound cake was the solution. So much for avoiding the heat...the hour of baking added too much heat in the kitchen. On the flip side, this was delicious!
