Holidays deserve a special dessert - especially my favorite holiday of the year. Some gingerbread cake, some wine...that would be on track for the holidays. This is a two-part dessert (gingerbread cake | poached pears) that would be great on its own but is better combined. The hardest part of creating this dessert was getting the cake out and then performing ‘surgery’ on it.
