Sharing a secret…

A chef said a teaspoon of vodka, whiskey, or tequila makes the pie crust flakier and lighter. I tried it today and it sure does work.


We are bracing for a heat wave this weekend so I decided to do all my baking today. This is bake number one: Spicy beef pie.

Filling recipe: 1lb of minced beef seasoned with ground black pepper, onion powder, salt, fresh turmeric, cayenne pepper, cumin, thyme, chili flakes, and diced red onion.
